GREAT ARCHIVES: POST-PUNK ODDITIES

 In Tippex misc

Sometimes the word archives brings some sense of vertigo with it, and of course the will to dive in. The feeling of a room filled with endless documents, secret papers, things that were hidden for a long time… EXCITEMENT!

And this is exactly what this thrilling discovery has brought us. From 70’s german gems to UK strange syncopated rhythms, from french odd chanteurs to electro, kraut, avant and pop. All our adored weird sounds take on new shapes in this extraordinary and inusual music library called Post-Punk Oddities. Well organized from A to Z, with a brief intro text for all the bands, this is a gift for all music astronauts.

As they say, “this blog focuses on the most obscure and/or bizarre of these creative, anarchic post-punk bands”.

Here are a pair of good examples, but honestly don’t miss the rest HERE.

Thanks to Camille Lan for the discovery!

Ja Ja Ja – I am an Animal. NDW rom their only self titled album, released in 1982.

Elia Eis – My Clown. Included on a compilation called Partysnäks, also from 1982. Produced by James Chance!
