banTOPS

It’s time to wave 2015 goodbye, but not before paying tribute to all the good things who helped us going through the bad ones with a traditional yearly top and a playlist cooked with love by the Tippex team.  From the incredible discovery of a Young Marble Giant footage from 1980 to a bunch of brilliant new albums (Housewives, Pierre Bastien, The Chap), rediscoveries and reissues (As Mercenarias, Pip Proud, Bona Dish) books or unforgettable shows : let’s look back one last time over our shoulders to celebrate and share the things who moved us, excited us, surprised us and enlightened 2015.

PASCAL TIPPEX

As a Parisian (and this is probably the first time I call myself a Parisian although I have been living here for 30 years) I’m afraid the sad things outnumber the happy ones this year.

Here is what made my year though:

Flavien Berger: “Léviathan
Thurston Moore: “The Best Day
Wand: “Golem
Jonathan Fitoussi et Clemens Hourrière: “Five Steps
Moxham & Halliday: “A know about Thing

One song: Girl Band “Why they hide their bodies under my garage
which reminds me of that old and amazing song by XTC “Complicated Game

Video: Sequences
This incredible footage of an 1980 show of Young Marble Giants

ALisonWyatt

Higlights: shooting a film with Jeff Mills in le Musée du Louvre on a closing day (oh the silence there…); the Barbican going crazy with Jeff’s symphonic version of “The Bells”; Young Marble Giants after-shows: a hotel room in Marseille with a couple of friends after Mimi festival and a month later on the Southbank Center rooftop featuring Brian Eno and Robert Wyatt; meeting Leee John from Imagination at Fête de la Musique!
