Young Michelin wins CQFD 2010 organised by French magazine Les Inrocks.
A few months ago, we’ve told you about our chouchou Young Michelin, a band based in France with five uncool guys. Imagine the sound of C86 / Sarah record catching up with simple and touching French lyrics. That’s them. And we love them deeply.
After the release of a couple of digital singles on Holiday Records, a split CD with on Cloudberry and a proper 7 inches vinyl on Julie Tippex / La Bulle Sonore, they’ve just won CQFD contest organized and promoted by the French magazine Les Inrocks. Thanks to them : because of CQFD, the band will fly to New York in December to record with Andy Chase (Divine Comedy, Smashing Pumpinks…) and will play with Warpaint, The Coral, La Patere Rose and Local Natives at les Inrocks festival November 6th. Don’t miss them too with The Raincoats, Radio Dept, The Notes and The Berniz at BBmix festival, near Paris, November 27th.
