joasihnoHallo Joasihno! We are happy to welcome the band Joasihno from Cico Beck, also member of The Notwist and Aloa Input. The two musicians play face to face on the ground, with marimbas, synthesizers, percussions and accompanied by some self-made robot musicians. Check this amazing live-session to get an idea.

Joasihno’s music evolves between minimalist music, electronica and pop music. By listening to their last album “Meshes”, some parallels with early works from Four Tet, but also influences from likes of Moondog, Nils Frahm, Steve Reich, Philipp Glass and Raymond Scott pop in mind.

Review on Playground Magazine / Album streaming / Website / Facebook

The band is available in France from March 28th to April 4th 2017 and worldwide (teaming up with the agencies Clubzwei for Germany and Pentagon Booking for Italy) the whole year for festivals and special events. Don’t hesitate to get in touch for more infos. Booking contact: jeremie AT

Hi Folks,

We’re super happy to add the Japanese quatuor GOAT to our Roster for Germany. (The band remains booked europe-wise by Florian at  ZooBook Agency).

Guitar, saxophone, bass and drums. Disregarding the musical scale of instruments as much as possible, the band creates songs that consist of noise and muted sounds that are produced when sound is emitted. The trance and fatigue brought about from relentless repetition and the melody-like sounds that comprise harmonics outside the twelve-tone are both urban and tribal at the same time.

FaceBook Link / Short Live extract / Longer Live extract / Soundcloud

We must say we’ve been truly blowed away from their live performance during their past 2016 tour. They’ll be back in July and will play a couple of german shows! get in touche.

“Trans Am remain one of America’s most inventive bands.” – Prog

“The band’s assured musicianship and feats of imagination are second to none.” – Rock-A-Rolla

“Trans Am are a band who, in a quarter century together, have never shown any sign that they’re happy to keep ploughing the same furrow.” – Drowned In Sound

In a career spanning over 25 years, Maryland’s Trans Am have mastered the art of the unexpected. Deftly juggling anything from kosmische rock to futuristic speed metal to robo-balladry, the band’s ability to manoeuvre bold stylistic and aesthetic shifts has earned them a reputation as one of post-rock’s most adventurous innovators.

Refusing to rest on this legacy, Nathan Means, Philip Manley and Sebastian Thomson continue to break down established modes of songwriting to brain-melting effect. Trans Am bring their genre-bending live show to Europe in 2017, with a spate of dates across the UK, France, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Jeff MILLS has created a new band – first time since UR. It’s called SPIRAL DELUXE

SPIRAL DELUXE is an Electronic Jazz Fusion one alongside established musicians with extensive background: the legendary keyboardist Gerald Mitchell (UR/ Los Hermanos), the Japanese rocker Yumiko Ohno (Buffalo Daughter/ Cornelius) handling Moog synthesizer and the Japanese bassist, new-yorker by adoption, Kenji “Jino” Hino who is none other than Terumasa Hino ‘s son, the worlwide famous Jazz trumpeter.

Spiral Deluxe was a special improvisational performance created by Jeff for the Exhibitionist 2 DVD project. With a limited amount of preparation and rehearsal time, the objective of the band was to create, shape and perform compositions in front of a live audience setting. Debuting in Tokyo, Sept 18 2015 at Terrada Warehouse during TodaysArt JP, a live recordings was captured in Kobe, Japan the following night on September 19th 2015 at Kobe Art Village Center.

With this first vinyl called “Kobe Session“, Jeff planed to launch the “Axis Audiophile Series”, a series of high- quality recordings: this will be some vinyls of 180g, delivering a sound encoded in 32-bit/48kHz.!

The band toured in October 2016:

18 Oct – Flow, Paris

19 Oct – La Belle Electrique, Grenoble

20 Oct – Teatro Politeama, Naples

21 Oct – Le Silo, Marseille

PINHAS richard, 2016

Seminal band from the French 1970s is back.

Heldon is a French electronic rock band created in 1974. The name of the band was taken from the 1972 novel The Iron Dream by Norman Spinrad. Like its predecessor Schizo, it is above all the group of guitarist Richard Pinhas who released a large number of albums under his own name. Among others heard on Heldon releases are synth player Patrick Gauthier and drummer François Auger. He has worked with numerous collaborators, including musicians of the band Magma as well as philosophers such as Gilles Deleuze (of whom he was a student) and writers such as Norman Spinrad and the essayist and novelist Maurice Dantec (the Schizotrope project). Influenced by the work of Robert Fripp and Brian Eno, the music of Richard Pinhas and Heldon is sui generis and innovative and has in its turn greatly influenced the field of electronic rock. The first releases under the name Schizo, and later Heldon, were self-produced and self-distributed.

Richard Pinhas will record a new HELDON album in 2017 and tour in 2018. Booking by pascal [a]

Monday, December 17th, 2016 sees the digital release and pre-order (physical) of a brand-new compilation of tracks in tribute to the various compositions of Stuart Moxham (Young Marble Giants, The G!st, solo work and with Louis Philippe and The Original Artists, Moxham & Halliday). Titled, “Stuart Moxham in the Straight World,” the new LP also includes an exclusive track from a forthcoming album to be released by Moxham, as well as a new version of the G!st’s track, “Being True,” reimagined in the aptly titled, “Being True II.”

All sixteen tracks were compiled via musician and curator Michael Korchia (of Bordeaux, France’s wondrous pop groups Watoo Watoo, Photon and Melicoton). With works stemming from personal relationships Korchia has built up with artists and friends from across Europe, South America, Asia, and North America over the years, he was able to bring a varied cast of international friends together for this very special compilation to honor Moxham while also including him in celebration of his works.

Back to the future.

nilhartmanNil Hartman is only in his early thirties but already had two lives.
Around 2008 with the release of his first EP he was known as Busy P (Ed Banger) new protégé, his music was played by hip artists (Brodinsky, Justice, Mark Ronson…) and he played a bunch of cool shows (Sonar, Nuits Sonores…). All you can dream of as a french electronic music artist back then. But everything stopped and Nil disappeared for a while.
8 years after it was a great surprise for us when he wrote back saying he had new stuff about to be released.  You need courage and may be a bit of distance and reflexion to find yourself and define what you really want to do, apart from the trends and the pressure. It’s the lesson of his short album, Ellipses. Dreamy electronica tracks only he could have composed.

Nil Hartman has never been this enthusiastic and already talks about new tracks and ideas for a live show.

We can’t wait to hear and see more!

Jeff Mills will be touring Europe in October 2016 with “Spiral Deluxe”, a live band: Gerald Mitchell (U-R, Los Hermanos) on keyboards, Yumiko Ohno (Havana Exotica, Buffalo Daughter) on keyboards and Kenji Hino on bass. This will be a live mix of techno, funk, jazz, disco… with amazing musicians. With live visuals too.

Please read below about the album Jeff recorded with this band and recently put out on Axis Records:

The first release from the Axis Audiophile Series. Jeff Mills has formed an electronic jazz fusion band and this 12″ is a recording of their recent performance in Kobe during the TodaysArt.JP Festival. Mills manages the decks, drums and percussion and is joined Detroit legend and Underground Resistance stalwart Gerald Mitchell (Los Hermanos/Galaxy 2 Galaxy), keyboardist Yumiko Ohno and bassist Kenji Jino. “Eventide” has the same kind of urban, uplifting soul as anything Kaidi Thatham or Mark de Clive-Lowe have made and isn’t bad at all! On the flip “Happy Gamma Ray” features uplifting keys and emotive chords backed by funk bass and one of Mills’ unmistakeable 909 drum machine workouts. It really seems that there’s no limit to this Motor City legend’s creativity which has spanned nearly 30 years and we’re excited about this new chapter in the Wizard’s sonic universe.

Is Europe (finally) ready for Abdu Ali?

His music may strike you as both disturbing and refreshing, raw and still very complex. With the released of his mixtape MONGO premiered on The Fader last may, Abdu Ali strongly stated that his music knows no labels and no boundaries. A queer rapper from the exciting city of Baltimore, he adds powerful lyrics about racism and homophobia to both killer dance tracks and more experimental productions. Sometimes compared to Death Grips or other contemporary ‘noise rap’ bands, he has actually created his very own sound, influenced by punk, noise, afrofuturism and Bmore club music, based on his own experiences and personnal history. Known for his amazing energy on stage, Abdu Ali is one of the most exciting artists we’ve discovered lately and we’re very excited to bring him to Europe.

«Baltimore rapper Abdu Ali is one of the most versatile MCs out there right now — his willingness to rap over everything from experimental noise to explosive hip-hop makes that clear.» The Fader

«Brandishing the signature sound of the city and augmenting it with a bevy of overdriven 808s and assorted glitches, he counts Sun-Ra, Erykah Badu and Missy Elliott as influences.

On stage, I feel like I’m a martyr, like Joan Of Arc, delivering a message so people can feel motivated, feel alive and awake,” he says, which would seem contrived if not for the way Ali thrashes, headbangs, and two-steps at a punk rocker’s pace, dripping in sweat and showing James Brown levels of exertion. “You don’t get an understanding of who I am as an artist until you see me perform. The performance is the finale.” Noisey

Bernardino Femminielli on board w. Tippex for Europe

webBFHis new album, Plaisirs Américains, has been our soundtrack for the summer (it’s title track being on the best new tracks list of Pitchfork and picked by Chanel for the catwalk), we are very happy to announce that canadian artist Bernardino Femminielli now joins the Tippex family for his bookings in Europe. Aside from his music, Bernardino is known for his work at the gallery/ restaurant Bethlehem XXX in Montreal and the crazy video show he did there called ‘Chaudtime’.

On stage, the hyper-sexual, genderless provocateur is joined by musicians from Essaie Pas and Bataille Solaire. More than typical concerts his shows are very intense performances with a lot of attention to details and scenography. His character is a synthesis of mysticism, danger and pleasure; a detached crooner deep within a distopian discotheque. Narrating in Spanish and French, from brutal italo-disco to heavy cosmic drone and mutant industrial, his sonic ventures reflect his chosen environments. In addition to his main project, he has composed music under Femminielli Noir (w/ Jesse Osborne-Lanthier) and is a long time collaborator of Alex Zhang Hungtai (Dirty Beaches). He has released a wide array of albums on tape (Hobo Cult, Los Discos Enfantasmes) and vinyl (Mind, Desire, Clandestine) and has performed at events and festivals around the world.

promo Pic Brian Case

We are super happy to welcome Brian Case (Disappears, Bambi Kino Duo, 90 day Men..) as part of our roster. Brian has just released his debut solo album, Tense Nature (hands in the dark record), which sees him focus his work on space, minimalism and repetition. The songs are all built around the idea of tape loops or lock grooves, working with snippets and phrases of sound. Brian sampled guitar or small drum loops before cutting them randomly. The sequences and their imperfect nature were then reworked into a sort of momentum, built using Case’s own perception of the new fragments. The result of his experiment is 12 primarily electronic, abstract, visceral, ambient tracks. They depict a dark environment, an uncanny landscape with its own contained world. Brian will do his first euro tour in November supporting Suuns and will be back early 2017. listen on Bandcamp / Video of 7D /

Best albums 2016 list / halftime report – Uncut

“…opiated reverberation that lands in dreamtime…”The Wire

“Effectively, it’s both concrete dub and electro-acoustic in process, working in a long tradition of experimental artists extrapolating unheimlich geists from tape recordings that stretches from Lee Perry thru Dome and This Heat to Basic Channel and Deathprod.” Boomkat

“Tense Nature is a true ‘ambient’ album, as described, though it can be a mesmerizing thing to truly contemplate.” Decoder Magazine

“Tense Nature de Brian Case est une splendeur monolithique faite d’argile et de ruines.”The Drone

“L’ensemble, pour étrange qu’il soit au premier abord, n’en dégage pas moins un charme irrésistible sur le long terme, à la manière du non-rock de This Heat, des premiers albums solos de Lee Ranaldo, ou des trucs les plus fous de Pere Ubu.” – New Noise

“Fascinating!… it is an album whose intelligence and subtly become more apparent the more time you invest in it.”Optical Sounds Fanzine

“In many ways, the music here is a logical extension of the last few DISAPPEARS albums as the band has experimented more & more with stark, minimalist song structures. Case fully realizes that concept here with these cold, naked post-industrial, minimal techno experiments that would work well as mini-soundtracks for Brothers Quay or Stan Brakhage films. RECOMMENDED.”Reckless Records
